V. Sajeev Kumar

Kochi , July 30

Peevees Projects Pvt Ltd, a division of the Peevees Group, is in the process of setting up an international style shopping and entertainment mall in Kochi at an investment of Rs 175 crore.

The project - The Summit - will be located at MG Road, the high street of Kochi, and will house the major national brands in retail from fashion, clothing, footwears, jewellery, personal accessories, white goods, technology products, travel goods etc.

Besides, the project will host the first cine multiplex in Kerala, Mr N. Balasubramanian, Director, Peevees Projects Ltd, told Business Line.

An exclusive Gold Souk housing major brands in gold and diamond jewellery will be another key attraction of the project. Also, a fair area is earmarked for food and entertainment with major international retail food chains and entertainment providers being part of it.

BUSINESS HOTEL

The hospitality division of The Summit proposes an exclusive business hotel with executive rooms, banquet halls, restaurants, health and fitness centre, beauty clinic and business centre amongst other facilities spread over 80,000 sq ft between the 6th to 12th floor.

Kochi, known for its cosmopolitan population and contemporary vibes, is a preferred test market of national and international marketing agencies. Citing the National Geographic Traveller, he said Kochi is identified as one of the 10 paradises on earth with over 13 per cent of the total domestic travellers and 33 per cent of the international tourists visiting every year.

Apart from this, he pointed out that the city is known for its large NRI remittances, high per capita consumer expenditure, exceptionally high brand proliferation and high consumption levels. The Summit is therefore conceived as a "whole new world" to the consumers and tourists to Kerala for shopping, he added.

The Summit is a 4,20,000-sq-ft property development with a consumer focussed product zoning. It has multi-level basements measuring 2,00,000 sq ft to park 500 cars.
