Traders seek white paper on FDI in retail

New Delhi, July 30

Trade bodies across the country have decided to observe August 9 as "Trader Day" every year.

This decision was taken at a two-day national conference of trade leaders held here under the aegis of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). A statement issued by the CAIT said that trade leaders of 26 States attended the conference. At the conference, traders also criticised foreign direct investment in retail trade and demanded a "white paper" from the Centre on this critical issue.
