RULING HIGH: A woman examining cloves at a spices outlet in Thrissur, Kerala. Clove production in the country is estimated at around 2,000 tonnes, far below the projected demand of 8,000-10,000 tonnes. Prices continue to rule high, both in global and domestic markets, on sharp fall in world production.
