TVS Motor bike sales up 28 pc in July

TVS Motor Company sold 68,335 motorcyles in July 2006, 28 per cent higher than 53,215 units in the corresponding period last year, the company has said in a press release. The company's total two-wheeler sales in July clocked 1,21,462 units (1,01,359 units). TVS Scooty sales clocked 25,356 units in July 2006 against 24,244 units in July last. "The brand continued its market leadership in the sub-100 cc scooter segment," the release said. TVS Motor Company exported 10,382 units in July, the highest-ever export sales in a single month, reflecting a growth of 15 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
Hero Honda sales up 2.3 pc
NEW DELHI: Hero Honda Motors posted a 2.3 per cent growth in sales in July to 235,314 units as compared to 230,050 units in the same month last year.
The company however registered a 16.38 per cent growth in its cumulative sales for the period April-July 2006. The company sold 10,68,006 units during the period as compared to 9,17,617 units sold in the corresponding period last year (April-July 2005).
