Kolkata, Aug. 2

Linc Pens & Plastics has recorded 15 per cent growth in revenues for the first quarter ended June 2006 at Rs 34.19 crore (Rs 29.85 crore). Profit after tax, however, fell to Rs 61 lakh (Rs 90 lakh). The lower net profit has been attributed to higher advertisement spending of Rs 1.62 crore (Rs 1.02 crore). According to a company release, the 60 per cent increase in spending on advertising was in keeping with the company's strategy to invest more in promotions, keeping in view the company's long-term goals.
