Hyderabad , Aug. 2 Idea Cellular Ltd has extended its reach to 500 towns in Andhra Pradesh, effectively adding about 128 towns in two months and nearly doubling its network reach in the last seven months from 265 to 500 towns. The company has expedited its network rollout to provide a congestion-free network. The rollout provides seamless quality coverage and increases the geographical coverage to far-flung Tier-II towns. The Circle Head, Idea Cellular (AP), Mr Subbaraman Iyer, in a statement said: "We have been making continuous efforts to expand network capacity by introducing new technologies, thereby reaching and connecting customers across the State." The company said that it would be the first to introduce Nokia's latest `Media Gate Way' technology that enhances local switching capability. In addition, its `Enhanced Full Rate' feature provides better voice quality. The subscriber base crossed 1.17 million recently, with the last one lakh coming in less than 30 days.
