New Delhi , Aug 4 The Madhya Pradesh Government has cleared investment proposals worth Rs 22,000 crore in the State and the projects are under implementation, Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister, said. Speaking at a meeting organised by industry chamber FICCI and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, he said the State has also established a `single table' concept for clearing investment proposals and set up a Project Clearance and Implementation Board. "Industrial peace is one of the strengths attracting investments in the State. For the past many years, there has not been a single man-day lost due to labour unrest. We have amended the labour laws and made them investor-friendly and this is an ongoing process," said the Minister. The investment projects have been selected from the Rs 100,000 crore proposals the State received in sectors such as power generation, petrochemicals, textiles, automobiles, auto components, engineering and minerals, agro processing, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. "To improve the industrial climate we have decided to improve our infrastructure. For the last two-and-a-half years, roads are being constructed in the State with an average of 18 km. per day. So far we have built 17,000 km of road and by 2008, 40,000 km of road will be laid," said Mr Chouhan. Approximately 3,600 MW of power projects are in the process of development at various stages.
