K.K. Birla suit hearing on August 21

Mr Justice Ashim Kumar Banerjee of the Calcutta High Court on Friday fixed August 21 as the date for hearing of the suit filed by Mr K.K. Birla.

The Birlas, by filing a suit, sought to enforce the trust deed, which is an integral part of the mutual will of 1982, allegedly made by M.P. Birla and Priyamvada Birla.The suit was filed two years back but no step has been taken so far towards a hearing.

Mr R.S. Lodha took out an application for early hearing but the Birla Camp urged that the suit is related to many other matters, which have not yet been decided.

The suit can only be heard after disposal of those pending proceeding and wanted to file an affidavit.

After hearing the parties, the court directed Birlas to file an affidavit by seven days, reply thereof, to be given by Mr Lodha within seven days, thereafter, and after that the matter shall be listed for hearing.
