Green power for Mitsui-OSK offices

MOL (Mitsui-OSK Line) and its International Container Terminal Company plan to equip the Tokyo-based Ohi container terminal with solar-powered generators to be installed in the offices of the two berths of the terminal. The installation work will start in October and is expected to be completed by next January, and the system is scheduled to start operation in April.

The solar panels, totalling 1200, will generate an estimated 185,000 KW of power annually, equivalent to the energy that arises out of consumption of about 45,000 litres of crude oil in a year. The consumption of that much crude oil would have caused about 128 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
