Shipping Seaways Group to deploy another vessel Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Aug. 7 The Seaways Group has acquired a second container vessel of 365 TEUs capacity to add to its existing CEX service. The second vessel is expected to join the service in the third week of August and is expected to enhance the tonnage deployed in the north of Bay of Bengal. The CEO of Seaways group, Capt. K. Vijay Gopal, in a statement said that this induction would improve the frequency and load capability benefiting both EXIM and coastal trade. The service was deployed due to strong demand from main line carriers to improve connectivity and also structured to cater to transhipment between ports, connecting the main line vessels. This vessel's induction on the East Coast is expected to boost the trade with Bangladesh, particularly augmenting export of cotton yarn, machinery, polymers, aluminium, automotives and consumer products through the sea route. Often project cargoes imported into Bangladesh are stuck due to want of conveyance back to Indian ports directly. Seaways believes that this vessel's addition would help carry additional transport in the region.
