FLAG Telecom inks pact with T-Com

FLAG Telecom has signed a contract with Europe-based T-Com to provide the latter 180 GB of connectivity between Europe and the US.

T-Com is the broadband and fixed line business of Deutsche Telekom AG.

FLAG, which has a global fibre optic network, is a subsidiary of Reliance Communications.

The 180 GB capacity will enable Deutsche Telekom to implement route diversity between the key business centres of Europe and the US and, consequently, offer enhanced scalability and reliability of service to its customers, said a statement from FLAG. FLAG did not disclose the value of the contract.

The `FLAG Atlantic 1' system is a terabit trans-oceanic loop system providing direct service between New York, London and Paris. It offers up to 2.4 terabits of city-to-city capacity.
