Supplementary demands for grants in LS

New Delhi, Aug. 7

The Government on Monday presented the first batch of supplementary demands for grants for 2006-07 in the Lok Sabha to the tune of about Rs 47,869 crore. The proposals were tabled by the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram. Of this additional Rs 47,869 crore, the Government has also sought Parliamentary approval for bonds worth Rs 14,150 crore to be issued to state-run oil companies compensating them for losses due to rise in global oil prices.
