Mr S.R. Kulkarni, President of the Transport and Dock Workers Union, Mumbai, and the All-India Port and Dock Workers Federation, has been elected unopposed as a Member of the Fair Practices Committee at the World Congress, which is currently holding its 41st World Congress at Durban in South Africa.

The Fair Practices Committee of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) has launched a worldwide campaign against the Flag of Convenience, a press release issued by the All-India Port and Dock Workers Federation said.

Mr Kulkarni was already elected unanimously as the Chairman of the Dockers Committee of Asia-Pacific Region of the ITF last year at the Regional Conference held in New Delhi. The ITF represents around five million workers in the maritime world.
