Mixed trend in spot rubber

Aravindan

Kottayam , Aug 8

A mixed trend was observed in spot rubber on Tuesday. RSS 5 and ISNR 20 lost marginally as buyers stayed back waiting for the sellers to step down, demoralised by the favourable weather and unfavourable overseas reports. Sheet rubber remained flat at Rs 92 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as there were no quantity sellers on the grade.

Futures improve

The rubber futures improved on NMCE. The August contract was traded at Rs 94.00 (Rs 91.34), September at Rs 88.50 (Rs 87.46), October contract at Rs 87.50 (Rs 86.61) and November at Rs 87.30 (Rs 86.80) per kg for RSS 4.

Physical prices (Rs a kg) were: RSS-4: Rs 92.00 (Rs 92.00); RSS-5: Rs 89.50 (Rs 90.00); Ungraded: Rs 87.00 (Rs 87.00); ISNR 20: Rs 89.50 (Rs 90.00) and Latex 60 per cent: Rs 73.14 (Rs 73.67).
