Mumbai , Aug. 8

Tech Mahindra has signed an agreement with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to provide solutions for delivery of football matches content direct to mobile devices across the world.

Under the agreement, Tech Mahindra, UEFA, and the mobile service providers will share revenues over a three-year period, said an official from Tech Mahindra at a news conference here.

The company will build and operate the mobile, deliver the IT environment for UEFA content, connecting it to various operator networks across the world and provide 24x7 support to deliver this content direct to football fans, said a company statement.

The platform provided by the company will upload live results, provide video clips as well as statistics about UEFA matches.

The project is proposed to start from September 2006.

Tech Mahindra will also look at diversifying into various other sports to provide content, said company officials.

The company will sponsor a scheme for promoting soccer in Mumbai in 12 schools for children under 16, said officials.

Selected students will play for the Mahindra senior level and later for Mahindra club. The estimated investment in this project is Rs 20 lakh.
