FOR GOOD TIDINGS: Fishermen garland a boat on the day of Narali Poornima in Mumbai on Wednesday. In Maharashtra, in addition to the Rakhi festival , the full moon day of the month of `shravan' is celebrated as Narali Poornima; it is dedicated to the vedic deity, Lord Varun, the god of rain and sea. Fishermen decorate their boats and offer coconuts to the sea.
