Kochi , Aug 9

Whirlpool unveiled its Onam promotional campaign in the State on Wednesday and has set a sales target of Rs 50 crore during the festival season.

"Kerala is an important market for us as the company had recorded sales growth of over 50 per cent this year. We are aggressively growing the distribution network in the State," Mr Tamal Kanti Saha, Vice-President (Sales), told newspersons. Last year the company achieved sales of Rs 35 crore during the Onam season, he added.

Whirlpool also flagged off a road show called Magic on the Move, which would cover 100 towns in 30 days, showcasing the new range of Fusion refrigerators and Splash washing machines. The company has also launched online sale of gift vouchers for the first time, which is aimed at NRIs.

The other marketing and promotional activities include `Vajragosham', offering various attractive prizes for customers buying Whirlpool products, and `Onasadya', a recipe contest in six main towns.
