Government - Politics
Finance on the right track

There is more on the GoM looking into the dedicated freight corridor. Lalu Prasad was happy that Chidambaram and Montek Singh Ahluwalia took the trouble of turning up at Rail Bhavan, and was generous in his praise for the Finance Minister.

When journalists asked him about differences between the Railways and Finance, this is what Lalu had to say: "Brother Chidambaram is very efficient. It is the duty of the Finance Minister to give proper advice and it is also his duty to find a proper solution. There are no differences between us. Chidambaram is like a big brother."

Lalu's praise must have gladdened Chidambaram, constantly getting the flak for turning down proposals with adverse revenue implications from other Ministries.
