Ahmedabad, Aug. 10

Sadbhav Engineering Ltd announced on Thursday that it has bagged a Rs 560-crore road construction project to improve and widen the Sardar Patel Ring Road around Ahmedabad from the City's urban development authority. Making the announcement, the company's Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Mr Vishnubhai Patel, said it was Gujarat's biggest project so far to be executed under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The ring road has a total radial length of 76 km. He told a news conference that the company has received the letter of acceptance from the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). The total concession period will be 20 years inclusive of the construction period. The construction is to be completed within 18 months, including a new bridge over the Sabarmati River near village Bhat. The road, when operational, will help reduce congestion in entire Ahmedabad and reduce the distance and commuting time.
