The Hindu Business Line : TransCare to submit biz plan to Kochi by Nov

TransCare Logistics India Pvt Ltd, which has been selected by the Cochin Port Trust as the international consultant for preparation of a business plan for the port, has commenced its work and has opened of an office in the port premises at Willingdon Island for its operations.

TransCare Logistics, the Indian subsidiary of TransCare AG, Germany, will carry out the studies in association with Pharos BV, Netherlands, and submit its report by the last week of November. The Port of Rotterdam Authority, appointed by the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways as advisors for the purpose, will impart its expertise for the preparation of the business plan.

The plan will state the management's long-term vision for the port, the goals to be achieved over the next seven years to satisfy this vision, identify the strategy to be followed to reach these goals, recommend a detailed plan of action for the next seven years to implement the strategy and identify sources of financing for all the proposed investments.

The plan will also establish business development priorities for the port trust, provide a roadmap for maximising the commercial potential of the port, enable the management to benchmark progress in achieving goals and be updated annually to reflect evolving circumstances and developments.

TransCare officials said Kochi port is one of the perspective ports in the West Coast and the company would leverage its international experience in port connectivity and inter-modal connectivity to develop a vision and strategy for the port.
