BHEL chief gets award

New Delhi, Aug. 11

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd today said its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Ashok K. Puri, has been awarded the "Distinguished Fellow Award 2006" by the Institute of Directors. The award was presented by the Haryana Governor, Mr A.R. Kidwai, here today, a BHEL release said.

The award is given to corporate leaders and top government officials for outstanding contribution in the field of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, it said. Mr Puri, an electrical engineer and MBA, joined BHEL in 1976 and has experience in key functions, including corporate management, planning and manufacturing, the release said.
