Our Bureau

New Delhi, Aug. 11

Tata Steel's tube division is expecting a growth of around 70 per cent this fiscal and sees the continuation of the same growth rate in 2007-08, the company's Executive-in-Charge, Tubes, Mr Vivek Kamra, said.

"Last year the sales were around Rs 120 crore and this year we are expecting around 70 per cent growth and the same amount of growth next year," he said. The company, which had earlier launched branded hollow steel products including pipes and square and rectangular hollow sections (SHS & RHS) under the brand name Tata Structura, has witnessed substantial growth in this section. "Tata Structura has grown by 65 per cent in this financial year over the previous year. Our plan is to sell 70,000 tonnes in full 2006-07 which would be a 85 per cent growth," he said adding that this particular market segment was in an early stage of development in India.
