Parliament passes G-Secs Bill

Parliament today passed the Government Securities Bill 2006 to consolidate and amend the law relating to Government securities and its management by the Reserve Bank of India.

The Rajya Sabha passed the Government Securities Bill 2006 on Monday amid walkout by members of the Samajwadi Party, the AIADMK and the TDP.

The Lok Sabha had last week passed the Government Securities Bill 2006.
