Bonus for Kerala co-op societies staff

The employees of all the co-operative societies in Kerala will be given bonus at the rate of 8.33 per cent of the annual earnings, irrespective of whether societies are running in profit or loss.

According to a statement from the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, the bonus can be paid on the basis of a maximum monthly wage of Rs 2,500.

In the case of societies with surplus allocable amount as specified in the Bonus Act, the employees with monthly wages of up to Rs 2,500 may be paid bonus not exceeding 20 per cent of their annual earnings. Those employees with monthly wages above Rs 2,500 may also be paid bonus not exceeding 20 per cent after reckoning their wages as Rs 2,500.
