CII marketing summit begins today

A two-day marketing summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will open in the Capital on Thursday. The summit, with the theme "Marketing in a Global World: New Rules for an Old Game" will focus on the impact of globalisation in the context of Indian markets, said a chamber release. To be inaugurated by Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr Kamal Nath, it will be addressed by international speakers such as Mr Doug Baillie, CEO of Hindustan Lever Ltd, Ms Maureen Johnson of WPP. Dignitaries from the Indian corporate world will include Ms Vinita Bali of Britannia; Mr Raghu Pillai of Reliance; Mr Sam Balsara of Madison; Mr Kunal Dasgupta of Sony; Mr Anand Kripalu of Cadbury's; Mr R. Subramanian of Subhiksha Retail; and Mr Piyush Pandey of Ogilvy & Mather. The summit will address issues such as `Multi-Nationalism: Managing Global Brands in Domestic Markets', `Rise of Organised Retail in India' and, `Building the Global Indian Brands' amongst others.
