Aishwarya Tele, Futurtec tie up for bridge check systems

Aishwarya Telecom has entered into a joint venture with Futurtec of Italy for the manufacture of infrastructure related products in India.

Futurtec is a producer of bridge monitoring systems for rail and road bridges, and weight in motion for toll bridges. .

The products would be manufactured in India to take advantage of the low manufacturing costs, which would make them competitively priced in the domestic and export markets. Aishwarya Telecom's manufacturing facilities in Dehradun would be utilised, according to Mr G.R. Manohar Reddy, Managing Director.

The software and hardware outsourced by Futuretec would be designed at Hyderabad for all the new products. The market for bridge monitoring solutions is huge in India. During 2006-07, business worth Rs 6-7 crore is expected, while in the first year of operations Aishwarya expects orders worth Rs 20 crore from bridge projects, he said.

Aishwarya Telecom also recently bagged a Rs 5-crore order from BSNL for fibre optic machines. It achieved a sales turnover of Rs 16.65 crore for 2005-06 and targets a turnover of Rs 30 crore for 2006-07, a company press release said.
