Two models of electric bikes were launched here on Friday by a local dealer Orange Bytes Systems Private Ltd. Mr K. Prasada Reddy, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Technology Services, said the bikes would result in savings of petroleum products and would also be eco-friendly. According to a company spokesman, the bikes were being manufactured by Planet-7 International in Pondicherry and marketed by G-Force Energy Ltd. He said the company was planning assembly units in all States for wider marketing of the bikes. The two models of bikes released here would cost Rs 38,600 and Rs 40,600 respectively. The bikes would run on batteries, which once charged, would give 45-50 km. The power consumption would also be very little, he said. The company also launched two models of electric bicycles, costing Rs 10,000 and Rs 12,000.
