Insurance employees' strike

This is with reference to "Insurance employees plan strike on Dec 14" (Business Line, August 19): The Finance Minister is advocating merger of PSBs. So there need not be any objection for the merger of the four public sector general insurers.

When the demand for merger comes from employees the opportunity should be well utilised by the Government.

A. Jacob Sahayam
