SriLankan Airlines is increasing the fuel surcharge on its flights.

Senior SriLankan officials told Business Line that the airline would levy an across the board additional fuel surcharge of $20 on a return ticket. The latest fuel surcharge comes into effect from August 28 and is the second fuel surcharge increase imposed by the airline in the past four months.

The airline had last increased the fuel surcharge in May.

The latest fuel surcharge increase means that a passenger travelling with the airline on or after August 28 would now have to pay an additional amount of close to Rs 1,000 for the flight.
