Bonus for Kerala cashew workers

Workers in the cashew sector in the State will get a minimum bonus of Rs 2,400 for 2005-06 as per an agreement reached at a meeting held in the presence of the Labour Minister, Mr P.K. Gurudasan. The Labour Commissioner (In-Charge), Mr K.V. Mohandas, had convened the meeting, which considered the payout to be made in the case of cashew-allied sectors also. The new agreement will ensure that each worker will get a minimum raise of Rs 200 in bonus, subject to a maximum limit of 20 per cent. This apart, a festival advance of Rs 70 will also be made available.
