CNN's Young Journalist Award

New Delhi, Aug. 23

CNN, in association with ITC Welcomgroup, on Wednesday announced the launch of the fourth edition of CNN Young Journalist Award for 2006 (YJA). The award targets young journalists within 22-28 years in print/online and television categories. This year, two new categories have been added to the CNN YJA categories, which include CNN Aspiring Journalist Award and CNN Citizen Journalist Award. While the CNN YJA is for journalists in India and Pakistan, the CNN Aspiring Young Journalist Award will be for journalism students from India. CNN Citizen Journalist Award will be open to all citizens of India except professional journalists for playing an active role in the process of collecting and disseminating news and information on issues. Closing date for receipt of entries is October 12.
