Bangalore, Aug 24

The Bangalore-based S7 Software Solutions said on Thursday that angel investor and ex-director of Microsoft Corporation, Mr Rao V. Remala would be a key investor in the company.

Mr Remala has also joined the company's board of directors and advisory panel.

"Besides investing in the company, I will be very keen on working on strategies to take S7 to the next stage," Mr Remala said. However, the details of his investment in S7 Software were not known. S7 Software is a spin-off of Bristol Technology Inc and specialises in software cross-platform porting, migration and the re-engineering domain.

"We are thrilled to have Mr Remala on the board of S7. He will not only help guide S7 on current and future strategies and but will also help in drawing a road map for the company," said Mr Manjunath M. Gowda, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, S7 Software, in a press release.

Nurturing PC progress from the very start, Mr Remala was the 29th person and the first Indian to write code and give shape to the ubiquitous Microsoft Windows program, the company said. In his 21-year stint with Microsoft, Mr Remala directly reported to Bill Gates and worked on a slew of the company's well known products - Basic, Cobol Compiler, Windows 1.0, Windows 2.0, OLE 1.0, OLE 2.0, Office 95, Office 97.
