Turbulent take-off

THE AIRPORTS AUTHORITY of India is about to acquire a few hundred acres of land to extend the runway at Bhubaneswar Airport.

The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology will lose a large chunk of paddy fields under its control to this venture. About a dozen families evicted in 1990 to extend the airstrip are yet to get any compensation, it is alleged.
