Brijesh Singh to head Prasar Bharati

Mr Brijesh Singh, Director General, All India Radio, has taken over additional charge of the Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharti. He succeeds Nr Navin Kumar, whose term as the DG of Doordarshan and acting CEO of Prasar Bharti ended on August 23.

Mr Singh, a 1976 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu Cadre, has been heading AIR since February 2004. During his stewardship, AIR clocked a turnover of Rs 270 crore in 2005-06. Mr Singh, an active participant in broadcasting issues, is also the Vice-President of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association.
