Visakhapatnam, Aug. 25

The personnel department of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (the steel plant) was awarded the ISO-9001 certificate on Friday for "its excellent services in the area of human resources."

Mr Y. Sivasagara Rao, the Chairman and Managing Director, complimented Mr K. Ayyappa Naidu, the Director (Personnel), and his team for their concerted efforts.

Mr Sunil Kumar of BVQI, the certifying agency, presented the certificate to Mr Naidu. On the occasion, the personnel department also launched an employees' charter, a document expressing the department's commitment to provide service to customers within a specified time frame.

Mr P.K. Bishnoi, the Director (Finance), Mr H.S. Chhatwal, the Director (Commercial), Mr P.K. Mishra, the Director (Operations) and Mr M.K. Das, the Chief Vigilance Officer, also spoke on the occasion. On Friday, Mr Sivasagara Rao, the CMD, also inaugurated the new DC drive control systems at the wire rod mill.
