Mr M.A. Salim, a State security officer accompanying VIP dignitaries from abroad, got a surprise compliment for the police department which has not been doing too well in hospitality.
Mr Gan Kim Yong, Singapore Minister for State for Education and Manpower, who led a delegation to Hyderabad, was so impressed with the officer that he told a FAPCCI gathering on Friday that the "knowledgeable" officer had briefed him very well about the city as they drove to the venue.
IMPRESSIVE FEAT
"In just 20 minutes, he gave me a comprehensive view of the city. If you are able to produce such knowledgeable and hospitable security officers, I think Hyderabad has big potential to become a global city in India," he said.
Mr Kim Yong also showered praises on the vibrant city of Hyderabad. "When I came out of the airport, I saw a big group of people holding welcome signs that include highly recognisable names like IBM. This is a sign of growing importance of the city," he said.
