GROWTH SECTOR
E-learning industry is a potential growth sector. Propelled by outsourcing demands, the sector is expected to absorb 100,000 to 150,000 skilled manpower in the next five years. Worldwide the market is projected to grow to around $28 billion by 2008 from $7 billion in 2004. At present, India employs about 30,000-40,000 people in about 400 companies of varying sizes. They are also less visible unlike BPOs (Business Process Outsourcing) in the IT industry, because they are small and have not gone public, except EduCom, Dr Neeraj Raj told newspersons on Friday.
