Artisan fair inaugurated

The seven-day annual artisan trade fair conducted by Canara Bank got off to a start at the ground floor premises of the Circle Office here. Dr N. Krishna Mohan, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, inaugurated the programme on Monday. The fair provides a direct marketing outlet for the produce from rural artisans and small-scale entrepreneurs who have availed finance from the bank. Among items displayed for marketing at the venue are readymade dress, textile items, hand-woven textiles, bags, toys, handicraft items, umbrellas, chappals, squash, jam, pickles, honey, clay pots and vegetables.
