Animation fete in Bangalore on Sept 3

The Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI) announced the first annual event on Animations and Gaming ABAI Fest 2006, to be held here on September 3 at the Indian Institute of Science. The one-day event is designed to address the emerging opportunities and demands in animations and gaming industry in India, and will provide a platform and opportunity to witness "Real world'' information about the trends and opportunities in the animation industry. Highlights of the event include a session on `Achieving high quality animation' by Manu Ittina & Bill Miller of Ittina studio, a case study on the next generation 3D engine technology, and `The XForce Engine' to be presented by Sandeep Kowdley & Jayanth Kannan of Raptor Entertainment. Registration fees for ABAI Fest 2006 is Rs 500 for professionals and Rs 250 for students. Delegates and attendees can register at any of the ANTS, ARENA or MAAC centres in Bangalore. The country's animation industry is growing at an annual rate of 30 per cent and India is emerging as an attractive destination of animation outsourcing. The Indian animation industry is expected to reach $950 million by 2009.
