Off-shore Development States - Maharashtra I2IT plans campus in Singapore Our Bureau
Pune , Aug. 28 The International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) has announced plans to start a full-fledged campus in Singapore at the invitation of that country's Economic Development Board. I2IT is in the process of creating a campus for its MS and MBA programmes, which are slated to start in January 2007, and the campus will be one of the many campuses planned by I2IT in the global arena, said Mr Krishna Moorthy, Director. Ms Aruna Katara, Executive Chair, told presspersons: "I2IT Singapore is in response to the growing global demand for specialised technology education and India's emergence as a leading authority in technology and education."
ATIC by year-end
The technology school is also all set to kick off its Advanced Technology Incubation Centre (ATIC) by the end of 2006. The centre will be an avenue for students to turn innovative technology development into commercial applications. ATIC will provide all types of assistance in terms of start-up infrastructure, venture funding, nurturing of the start-up, managerial assistance and promotional support, Mr Moorthy said. I2IT was recently awarded the Maharashtra Information Technology Award 2006 by the State Government's Directorate of Industries. The company has a number of tie-ups including one with BIT camp, Korea, to offer post-graduate programmes in advanced information technology and management to Korean students.
