Citrix Online adds `GoToWebinar' to product line

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore , Aug. 28

Citrix Online, a division of the US-headquartered Citrix Systems, has added `GoToWebinar' to its product line. Its other remote access technology products include GoToMyPC, GoToAssist and GoToMeeting.

The addition, according to Mr H.R. Shiever, Managing Director, Citrix Online Asia Pacific, would revolutionise the way organisations plan, present and profit from Web-based events.

Speaking to Business Line over telephone, he said `GoToMeeting' was targeted for smaller group while `GoToWebinar' would be an online collaborative service for large audiences. "The reach would be phenomenal as the Webinar service represents a new breed of technology, which is easy to use, cost effective and functional," Mr Shiever said.

To popularise `GoToWebinar', the company is planning to give one Webinar for free to organisations that make use of `GoToMeeting' at least 10 times.

"No specialised training is required for setting up this tool and the user interface would allow online presenters monitor audience reaction at a glance," he said and added that companies would be able to deliver unlimited Webinars for one flat fee.

"Individuals or corporates need not buy any hardware for using these tools. No integration is involved and there is nothing to install on the attendee's side," he explained.

According to him, the awareness was at the beginning of the adoption stage in India.

Without divulging the details of investment, he said Citrix was pumping money into India for marketing and popularising these products. The user incidentally would have to pay a subscription for using the tool, he said.

To a query on customer satisfaction, Mr Shiever said: "The renewal rates have been extremely good. Over the past year, the customer base has grown and the seats of our technology hotting up."

GoToAssist is strong in the technology sector and BPO space (chat-based and remote assist), while GoToMeeting is accepted in high performing environment.
