One night in Sri Lanka part of deal

Hyderabad , Aug. 29

SriLankan Airlines has teamed up with the Taj group of hotels to offer a flexible two-in-one holiday package that allows passengers to stay two nights in Kerala and another in Sri Lanka.

The packages start at Rs 18,840 a passenger (excluding taxes) for three nights.

Scheme details

The scheme, which opens on Tuesday, would close on September 30. It is likely to be extended by 2-3 weeks, if needed.

There is no fixed itinerary and passengers can choose from five destinations in Kerala and three in Sri Lanka.

Addressing a press conference, Ms Asha Kumar, Sales Manager (AP) of SriLankan, said that depending on the response this pilot scheme could be extended to other Indian destinations connected by the airline.

Mr Vinod K.B., Sales Manager (Domestic Leisure and Conference) of Taj group, said the idea was to promote a tourist package akin to the popular golden triangle in north India.

On security concerns in the island nation, Ms Kumar said tourists were never targeted.
