COMMUNITY PROJECT: A view of the housing project for bidi workers on ownership basis to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, on Friday at Solapur. The housing project comprising 255 sq.ft houses for 10, 000 bidi workers.

The project was conceived under the Central Government housing for bidi workers. The tenements have been constructed at the cost of Rs 60, 000 each — Rs 20, 000 came from the bidi workers, Rs 20, 000 each as subsidy from the State Government and the Centre.
