Non-coking coal block allotments

The screening committee for allotment of coal blocks would be meeting on Thursday to decide on the allotment of 15 coal blocks of non-coking coal. The total estimated reserves in these 15 blocks are approximately 2 billion tonnes for which the Ministry has received than 600 applications. Out of these, 108 applications are for the Tubed block in Jharkhand.

The committee has already deliberated on the allotments of the coking coal blocks. Deliberations on non-coking coal would start from Thursday, officials said.
