Kochi , Sept. 1

The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) is organising the third INDAQUA at Chennai from January 11-13, 2007. The main objective of the event is to give further impetus to the country's aquaculture sector, augment the production facilities and bring linkages to export markets.

The major component of the upcoming event will be an exposition in which the stakeholders such as farmers, hatcheries and other input suppliers, machinery manufacturers and seafood processors will all be putting up stalls to highlight the achievements made by their respective sectors.

Technical sessions on various current topics and matters of interest to the stakeholders have been organised and renowned speakers would speak on the present world aquaculture scenario, a press release from MPEDA said.

The additional attraction of INDAQUA 2007 compared with similar events held earlier is that the organisers have decided to give special focus on the present status and future potential of ornamental fish exports from the country.
