ISB to host networking event for entrepreneurs

The Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (WCED) at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) are set to host TiE - ISB Connect 2006, a networking event for entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders.

The three-day event to be held from September 20-22 at ISB will bring together over 40 global venture capitalists.

The event is designed to serve as a platform for entrepreneurs with early stage as well as growth stage ventures, to interact with VCs and Angel Investors, successful entrepreneurs and mentors especially in the `sunrise sectors' of the rapidly growing Indian economy.

Issues to be discussed

Discussions will focus on entrepreneurial opportunities in new industry tracks of sports and fitness, retail, media and entertainment, infrastructure and real estate and semiconductors.

The President, TiE, Hyderabad, Mr J.A. Chowdary, in a statement said, "TiE- ISB Connect 06 is a unique event attracting the best of business leaders. We have active participation from the most respected companies in the `sunrise sectors' and we hope that this event will help entrepreneurs realise their business dreams." The Executive Director, WCED at the ISB, Professor Chandrasekhar, said, "Our focus is to nurture and guide the next generation of business leaders." Aspiring entrepreneurs can profit from the increased interest in the India Opportunity among global investors.

Apart from the panel discussions, the event has a special feature - `Jumpstart Your Venture' to be conducted by Dr Prasad Kaipa, CEO Advisor and coach. Dr Kaipa's clients include HP, Cisco and Disney among others. `Jumpstart Your Venture' is a workshop for entrepreneurs with ideas to help them overcome internal blocks.
