TVS Motor sales rise 39 pc

TVS Motor Company sold 83,014 motorcycles in August 2006, 39 per cent more than 59,675 units in the same period last year. Total two-wheeler sales in August stood at 1,35,533 units compared to 1,03,063 units, during the same period last year recording a growth of 32 per cent. TVS Scooty sales recorded 23,118 units (21,873 units). The recent launch of pink colour Scooty Pep, part of the fashion series, has attracted a great deal of interest among young girls, says a release from the company. The company intends to bring out unique options to the customer where they could choose their own colour. To begin with, this project will be launched in Bangalore, the release says.

In the export front, TVS Motor Company recorded its highest-ever exports of 11,008 units in August 2006, at a growth of 71 per cent compared to the same period last year.
