New Projects Deepak Fert commissions unit in Taloja Our Bureau
Pune , Sept. 2 Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd has commissioned its Rs 154-crore isopropyl alcohol (IPA) plant at Taloja and commenced delivery of the product to its customers from August 28. The company is the only manufacturer of IPA in India and has a capacity of 70,000 tonnes per annum (TPA). At full capacity utilisation, IPA could potentially contribute about Rs 300 crore to its topline, a company statement said here on Thursday. The current market size of the product in India is estimated to be 65,000 TPA and growth rates are about 6-7 per cent per annum. With good export potential for IPA, the company plans to begin exports this financial year, the release said. Mr S.C. Mehta, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, said: "Our strategy is three-pronged - to maximise on our existing asset-base, expand using our core competencies and diversify into new sunrise sectors."
