Life Insurance Marketing - Strategy Web Extras - Children & Parenting States - Karnataka LIC Udupi division tops in `Bima School' concept Our Bureau
Mangalore , Sept. 3 The Udupi division of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) occupied the number one position in introducing `Bima School' concept in the country during 2005-06. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Mr M.C. Humberi, Marketing Manager, Udupi division of LIC, said that the division finalised 130 `Bima Schools' during 2005-06. The concept of `Bima School' was launched for bringing about insurance consciousness amongst children the future citizens of the country. A school will be declared as `Bima School', if 25 students of that particular school opt for select children-specific schemes of the corporation. For this, the school will get Rs 2,500. Udupi division has 32 branch offices in the districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Davangere, and Chitradurga.
The division, which sold 90,804 policies as on August 15, emerged as the number one division in the zone comprising Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh States. The amount mobilised through first premium income was to the tune of Rs 89.55 crore.
Mr S. Behera, Senior Divisional Manager, said that `Satellite Sampark' offices will be opened in Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district and Holalkere in Chitradurga district during the year.
