New Delhi, Sept. 4

As a part of the expansion of its Global Delivery Network Business, Accenture, the global IT firm on Monday opened its delivery centre in Gurgaon for its outsourcing and systems services. This marks the company's 10th delivery centre in the country with head count at 19,000 as of May 2006, against 4,000 in 2003.

With a capacity of 1,100, the centre will also offer opportunity to Accenture professionals to relocate to Gurgaon.

"Launching a facility in Gurgaon is being driven by two factors. First, we continue to see very strong client demand for Accenture's services from India. Second, we believe we can fulfil that demand with the large pool of high-quality technical and professional talent in the city," said Mr Sandeep Arora, lead executive, Accenture Delivery Center for Technology in India.
